Will it be advisable to redesign the knowledge society on the basis of conventional economical criteria? Which economical concepts can be applied to the functions and institutions of the knowledge society and which cannot?

This conference with scientists from the University of Leipzig and renowned guest speakers will approach the subject from different perspectives. In addition to providing an analysis of the general social trend toward marketization, of its causes and manifestations, the conference will investigate particular aspects of this development.
