Good Scientific Practice
Preliminary Remarks and Information
In April 2015, Leipzig University adopted the Basic Statutes of Leipzig University to Ensure Good Scientific Practice; this new statute was based on the 2013 recommendations of the German Research Foundation for safeguarding good scientific practices.
At the end of 2014, the Senate had already appointed an Ombuds-Commission, consisting of six members and two deputy members, who as persons of trust are available to members of research groups or Leipzig University. The term of office for the Ombudsman Commission and the Standing Commission is the same as that of the Senate.
Statutes on Ensuring Good Scientific Practice
In consultation with the Office of the Rector, the Senate of Leipzig University approved (on the basis of § 79 Sentence 3 and Section 13, paragraph 3, sentence 2 of the SächsHSFG) on 17 April 2015 the following Basic Statutes of Leipzig University to Ensure Good Scientific Practice:
