Requirements

For the bachelor programme: English B2 and another modern foreign language B1 or English B2 and knowledge of Latin

For the master programme: knowledge of spoken and written standard Mandarin to the level of intermediate Level 4 of the HSK examination (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi 2010), English B2 and another modern foreign language B1 or English B2 and knowledge of Latin, aptitude test

Description

The programme provides basic linguistic ability in Modern Chinese. It aims to enable students to understand Chinese culture and society in their historical and present dimensions and to apply the knowledge acquired in a professional capacity. The programme comprises Modern Chinese, history, society, civilisation, culture and intellectual history of China. The master programme is more strongly research-oriented, increases linguistic ability, expands the basic knowledge of Chinese culture and society and enables students to handle a China-related topic with academic skills.
