First professional study programme in German as a foreign language, German Language and Literature, letras alemão, linguistics, foreign language didactics, literature and related subjects, German B2 (all fields), Portuguese B2 (reading comprehension) and B1 (other proficiencies)

Description

This master programme is for teachers in German as a foreign language and experts in cultural mediation. It is taken at Universität Leipzig and the University of Salamanca jointly and is characterised by an embedded year abroad, an inter-site study structure, an exclusive programme of selected compulsory elective modules, up to two project / internship modules and two colloquia accompanying the master’s dissertation, or structured individual supervision.

The study programme prepares students for work in all practical and professional fields of teaching and studying German as a foreign language and for work in related fields such as cultural mediation, (foreign) cultural politics media and publishing, foreign economic relations etc.. The core area of studying and teaching German as a foreign language qualifies graduates of the master programme for, for example, management, curriculum planning, organisation of language courses, development of teaching material etc worldwide.. In addition the master programme qualifies students to carry out independent research in German as a foreign language both in Germany and abroad. In particular master students gain professional and management skills in the key issues of cultural contact and exchange between the German- and Portuguese-speaking world from a language standpoint.
