Description

The Master‘s degree Bioinformatics is a consecutive study programme that focuses on research and builds upon a Bachelor’s degree, preferably Computer Science or Biology. The programme aims at a scientifically based, fundamental education by deepening your specialist knowledge in several research fields at the interface of Computer Science and Biology. It offers various options from the areas of Computer Science and Biology, other natural sciences and Mathematics.

This programme’s central objective is to enhance your knowledge of Computer Science, Biology, Mathematics and natural sciences within selected areas, and will help you to acquire the ability to undertake basic and applied research independently. You will undergo training that is close to active research, its particular strength being the proximity to the mathematical and biomedical sciences.

This programme is organised by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. Therefore, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science will award you the degree of “Master of Science Bioinformatics” after you have successfully completed the study programme.
