How to get to Leipzig
Air
The Leipzig/Halle Airport is about 30 minutes away
from the centre of Leipzig. There are regular trains from
the main terminal to Leipzig Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).
If there are no direct flights to Leipzig from where you live,
we recommend flying to Berlin (about 2 hours away from Leipzig
by rail), Frankfurt am Main or Hanover (both of which are
about 3½ hours away from Leipzig by rail). Leipzig
is served by a regular rail service to and from all three
cities.
Rail
InterCity and InterCityExpress trains travel from Leipzig
Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) to the major European
cities. Leipzig's Central Railway Station is located in the
city centre.
Car
To reach Leipzig by car, take the
A9 autobahn (Berlin - Nuremberg)
or the A14 (Halle - Dresden).

A taxi from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station)
to the conference site or the Botanical Garden nearby costs
approx. € 8.
Public transport
From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station), please
take tram
Due to extensive roadworks in Leipzig, the location of tram and bus stops may change as well as their route. We are very sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. Please look at

No. 15 (platform in front of the Station, direction "Meusdorf").
Due to the mentioned roadworks, tram 15 will most likely take
the route of tram 16 as described in the following paragraph.
The route that is shown in the picture on the right will only
be serviced by a replacement bus. However, there should be
no problem in taking tram 15 from "Hauptbahnhof"
to "Johannisallee".

No. 16 (platform in front of the Station, direction "Lößnig").
Go to the 4th Stop "Johannisallee". There, walk
a few steps back to the cross junction Philipp-Rosenthal-Str.
/ Johannisallee, and head for Johannisallee at your right
hand side. Firstly, you will get to the Botanical Garden (right
side), and, walking further along this street, to the conference
site (- after you have crossed Liebigstr. - also to your right
side).
You will need a ticket called "1 Zone Leipzig"
(5.40 € for 4 tickets).
