USPDU receives major grant from the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF)
(June 2011)

The funding program “Go-Bio” is a highly competitive federal funding scheme of the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF). The USPDU is one of six groups in Germany receiving this major grant. Initially 93 applications were sent in for evaluation. Our grant program aims at further improvements of our already existing protein detection assays. This work will mostly be based on our recent advances in the areas of rational enzyme design and fluorescence techniques. On May 26th, the official prize ceremony hosted by the state secretary Dr. Georg Schütte took place in Munich. The team for this research program will consist of four postdocs supported by two PhD students and two technical employees.
