My PhD dissertation, „Magana Jari Ce von Abubakar Imam. Ein frühes Werk der Hausa-Literatur“ [Magana Jari Ce by Abubakar Imam. An early work of Hausa literature] (to be published), looks at the influences of written and oral traditions on one classic of Hausa literature that represents an important literary juncture. Plots and themes from Europe, the Arabic world, the Orient and Africa are incorporated into the poet’s work which describes and comments on his own world.
