Kurzbeschreibung Dissertationsprojekt

This dissertation deals with methods to examine research findings with regard to commercial relevance. Implemented at an early stage, these will help universities and research facilities to adapt innovative concepts to the market.

The dissertation will take place within the context of the German ForMaT program. ForMaT integrates economists in research groups of universities and research facilities to advance innovation potential and market implementation.

The main focus of the dissertation will be on the recommendation to involve an economist in research projects. It will be argued, that this would increase the chances of a successful transfer of research findings to the market. Additionally, the approaches of different economists to foster an innovation transfer will be analyzed in this doctoral thesis.
