Accommodations in Leipzig

Please Note that the deadline for reserving a room in the university guesthouses has now passed. However, if you wish to reserve a room in one of the many Leipzig hotels, you may still do so, although the deadlines for receiving the conference rates have generally passed at this time.

Here you can find some lodging options. The first category includes University Guesthouses (Villa Tillmans & Guesthouse Ritterstrasse). In order to reserve a room at one of the Guesthouses, you must contact Kristine Hildebrandt (khilde@uni-leipzig.de) before March 15. The second category includes three Leipzig city hotels that are offering reduced conference rates. You must reserve one of these rooms yourself, using the Workshop code word ("Typology") to receive the reduced rate. Please contact Kristine Hildebrandt with any other questions.

I. University Guesthouses

a. Villa Tillmans: this is also the venue for the workshop itself. It is located on Wächerstrasse 30, near the Geissewissenschaftliche Zentrum (GWZ), where the Institut für Linguistik is housed. As of 20 February, there are several double-sized rooms available. The cost is Euros 60/day, including breakfast. All rooms have attached baths.

b. Guest House Ritterstrasse: this is located at Ritterstrasse 12, about a 10-15 minute walk from Villa Tillmans. It is located in the "heart" of downtown Leipzig (the Zentrum), near Augustusplatz. It is an easy tram ride or a pleasant walk to the workshop venue. As of 20 February, there is only one double-size room available. The price is Euros 46/day, with attached bath (breakfast not included, but the room has a small kitchen area)

For both of these hotels, space is limited, so please inform me at your earliest convenience if you wish to stay at one, and let me know the particulars (e.g. which place, single/double, etc.). Also, for those of you who are used to paying for hotels by credit card, these guesthouses only accept cash for payment (upon checkout).

If you would like to stay in one of these guesthouses, I need to know the information by *March 15* at the latest, so I can send this list to our Institute assistant, Frau Sabine Tatzelt.

II. Leipzig City Hotels

For those of you who wish to stay in a slightly more upscale setting (even though I can tell you from personal experience that the guesthouses are perfectly fine), we have arranged for reduced "conference" prices to be offered at 3 city hotels. Unlike with the guesthouses, you can make these reservations yourself, using a "code" word ("Typology") to receive the conference rate. All of these hotels are located in or very close to the Leipzig Zentrum, and so are also approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the workshop venue. The information for each of these follows:
