Spaces of Global Interaction

Abstract:
Matthias Middell’s talk will introduce the first ideas for a larger project analysing regimes of territorialization both from a historical point of view and with emphasis on current processes of fragmentation and reconfiguration of spatial frames for social (inter-)action. All those being interested to participate in the one form or the other in such a project are heartily welcome to use the discussion time after the talk for the first exchange on possible cross-disciplinary cooperation.

Biographical Note:
Matthias Middell is currently the Director of the Global and European Studies Institute (GESI) at University of Leipzig, where he heads the joint master’s course in “Global Studies – A European Perspective”, as well as the Spokesperson of the Centre for Area Studies (CAS).
