The present director of the center is Professor H.-J. Glander, who was certified as a Clinical Andrologist and Academician by the EAA in 1994.

Professor H.-J. Glander and his co-workers participate in a project on sperm-oocyte-interaction, supported by the German Research Council (DFG). Professor H.-J. Glander belonged to the executive councils of scientific societies as follows: European Association of Tissue Banks, EATB (from 1992 to 1994), German Society of Fertility (from 1991 to 1994), Andrological Society of the GDR (from 1971 to 1990) and German Andrological Society since 1991. He is member of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), of the European Academy of Andrology (Academician since 1994), of the New York Academy of Sciences (since 1995) and honory member of the Hungarian Urological Society (since 1990). He is member of the Editorial Board of Andrologia, Fertilität, Archive of STD/HIV research, Hungarian Andrology and Acta Chirurgica Hungarica.
