How to get to Leipzig PDF Print E-mail

The city of Leipzig can be reached via its international airport, by train or by car.

The Leipzig/Halle Airport is about 30 minutes away from the centre of Leipzig. There are regular trains from the main terminal to Leipzig Central Station .
If there are no direct flights to Leipzig from where you live, we recommend flying to Berlin (about 2 hours away from Leipzig by rail), Frankfurt am Main or Hanover (both of which are about 3½ hours away from Leipzig by rail). Leipzig is served by a regular rail service to and from all three cities.

Rail
InterCity and InterCityExpress trains travel from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) to the major European cities. Leipzig's Central Railway Station is located in the city centre.

Car
To reach Leipzig by car, take the A9 autobahn (Berlin – Nuremberg) or the A14 (Halle – Dresden).

Arriving at the airport Leipzig-Halle PDF Print E-mail

In principle there are three ways into town: by car, by taxi and by train.

By car
From the A14 you can reach Leipzig/Halle Airport via a slip road. From the A9 you can either go via the Schkeuditzer Kreuz motorway junction (A9/A14) or – coming from Munich – exit at Großkugel.

By taxi
There are taxi stands just outside Terminal B and in the city centres of Leipzig and Halle, e.g. outside the main railway station. It will take about 30 minutes to travel from Leipzig. The cost is ca. €30,-

By train
The FlughafenExpress leaves from Leipzig Central Station and the airport every 30 minutes. A one-way trip takes 14 minutes with one stop at the new Leipzig Trade Fair. Additional trains from Halle/Saale Central Station to Leipzig/Halle Airport leave every hour. The one-way ticket €3,20.

 
Central Leipzig / Villa Tillmanns PDF Print E-mail

In Town

Arriving at the central railway station (Hautbahnhof). There are two taxi ranks outside the station. One to the right of the left main exit (or left to the right main exit) and a smaller one to the side exit on your right.
 

How to reach the Villa Tillmanns

A taxi to the Villa Tillmanns (no. 4 on the map) is around €8-9.
