The fourth European Congress on World and Global History wil take place in 2014.
Welcome to the Website of the Third European Congress on World and Global History!
The Third ENIUGH congress has taken place from 14 to 17 April 2011 at the London School of Economics and Political Science. It attracted more than 500 scholars to London from all over Europe and the world, from almost 40 countries. On this website you will find a documentation of the programme and the conference proceedings, including a photogallery (coming soon) and a selection of papers presented at the congress.
With nearly 100 panels, this congress has drawn together scholars sharing an interest in crossing national historiographical boundaries, whether they define their personal approach as ‘transnational’, ‘world’ or ‘global’. The menu of papers has ranged thematically across cultural, economic, political and social history; geographically across all inhabited continents; and benefitted from the insights of colleagues in a variety of disciplines.
The host institution was the LSE (primarily the Department of Economic History), which has been a pioneer in research, teaching and journal-publication in global history.
This has been the third congress of the European Network in Universal and Global History. Founded in 2002, and based at the University of Leipzig, ENIUGH aims to encourage and facilitate world, global and transnational history across Europe, in conjunction with our partner organisations around the globe. If you want to become a member please click here.
The fourth European Congress on World and Global History is scheduled for 2014. The precise date and location will be specified in mid-2012. We will be pleased to welcome you also at this meeting of scholars in world, gobal and transnational history.
