The workshop is intended to create transregional networks of young scientists in German-speaking countries who are currently working on Romani/Gypsy cultures or who are planning to do so. The "low-budget" meeting was split up on two days. On the one hand students and graduates had a forum for presenting their own research projects and for discussing them. On the other hand the internal understanding of the network was being reflected on the basis of ethnological/Tsiganological research approaches, as well as the interdisciplinary perspectives of cooperation in Romani/Gypsy Studies. In addition there were debates about the positioning of Tsiganologie/Romani Studies within the university landscape, on questions of research ethics and on the critical dealing with the own subject's academic history.
