Aims
The aim of this project, which is part of the
DECLIM program of the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), is to analyse
the decadal climate variability within the last interglacial cycle, with particular
attention being drawn on the interglacial-glacial transition. For this purpose
multidisciplinary investigations are carried out on limnic sediment successions
from central and eastern Europe. The impact of the North Atlantic Oscilation (the Gulf Stream)
on the European continent is examined using limnic sediment records from five locations
which form a W-E transect.
