About Me
What I Do
I work as an Earth Scientist in the Atmospheric Sciences & Global Change division at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. My main research interest is the realism of the representation of cloud-scale physical processes, which climate models have to parameterize on the basis of their much coarser grid spacing. In my current projects, I aim to use observations of process variables, rather than state variables, to evaluate and eventually improve climate models.

I previously worked as a Scientist in the Clouds and Global Climate research group at the Universität Leipzig. In that capacity I also worked with meteorology students, teaching courses on climate dynamics and mentoring B.Sc. and M.Sc. thesis projects.
