Travelling to Leipzig by plane
The local airport is Leipzig-Halle Airport. The "Leipzig/Halle" part of the name is due to the fact that the airport is located between Leipzig and Halle - the two major cities in the region. The airport's homepage provides detailed information on flights etc.
Leipzig-Halle Airport/Homepage
A high-speed train connects the airport and the city of Leipzig. The train runs every 30 minutes. It gets you to the main railway station. The station is in walking distance of the conference site.
Note: Between 00:00 and 05:00 hrs trains run less frequently.
Flying to Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich may reduce the cost of your flight ticket. However, you will have to take one of the trains that connect those cities with Leipzig. Train tickets are quite expensive. On the other hand, train connections are quite good. You reach Leipzig from Berlin within 2 hours, from Frankfurt within 3 and a half hours, and from Munich within 5 hours.
