In the second half of the 20th century linguists have developed a whole range of models designed for the formal description of natural languages. The papers collected in this book represent a unique attempt at a comprehensive application of these models to a large number of Slavic languages. The four sections of the book – Syntax, Information Structuring, Computer Linguistics, and Semantics & Pragmatics – comprise 51 papers. Contributions have been made by 61 authors from 17 countries. Most of the papers are in English; some are in Russian and German.
