Current research interests: Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry:
Synthesis of bioactive natural products and their analogues like alkaloids,
peptidomimetics, ATP analogues and sphingolipids. In particular he is interested
in the rational design and synthesis of inhibitors of angiogenesis, and in the
development of inhibitors of sphingomyelinase and ceramide formation as modulators
of signal transduction and apoptosis. Furthermore, the development of inhibitors
of histone modifying enzymes and of kinesines are part of his research interest.
