A detailed description of the theory for the investigation of binary mixtures by means of the Quantum Cluster Equilibrium approach is presented in the present study. The formalism has been implemented in a new program. As an example the binary system water / dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is investigated to demonstrate the new approach.
