The Graduate Centre
The particular strength of the Graduate Centre Humanities and Social Sciences lies in its wide-ranging regional competences bringing together expertise on the different parts of Europe, the two Americas as well as West, South and East Asia and Africa and allowing for comparative analyses and studies of increasing global connectedness on a strong empirical foundation. The topics range from politics and culture over language and language policy to economics and religion/secularity.
Different units of the Graduate Centre focus on the emphases of the university in the field of Area Studies and the Study of Religion and Secularity and are associated with the Centre for Area Studies and the Centre for the Study of Religions.
