The promotion of equal opportunities for doctoral students is a particular concern of the Graduate Centre Humanities and Social Sciences.
Together with the Research Academy we offer infant care, flexible child care during conferences and workshops as well as coaching and workshops on gender equality.
In the framework of the “Female Spirit” series, the Graduate Centre organizes a series of roundtables in which female academics from different disciplines report about their experiences and strategies and will point out concrete problem areas during the institutional process. Topics to be discussed are gender roles, the reconciliation of family and work life, publishing strategies, third-party funds, project work, academic and geographic mobility and the concomitant challenges and the development of social networks.
The alumnae network offers regular career planning workshops.
On the basis of the cooperation of the Research Academy Leipzig and comparable organizations in the cities of Halle and Jena, the development of a mentoring programme is planned.
More information about child care can be found here
