Cooperations

Sorbian Studies at the University of Leipzig are

seen traditionally as an educational course in the two native Slavonic languages. At the same time they are part of German and international Slavonic Studies, as well as European research into minorities.

Our institution has maintained from the outset good contacts with university institutes of Slavonic Studies in Central and Eastern Europe, e.g. Prague, Warsaw, Moscow, Lvov, Poznań (with ERASUMS-exchange) , Szczecin (with ERASMUS-exchange) and Gdańsk. We work especially closely with the Sorbian institutions and organizations in Lusatia, above all with the Sorbian Institute e.V. in Bautzen and Cottbus.
