Research Interests
The goals of our research is the application and development
of methods for rational protein design and in vitro evolution
of proteins. Currently, we are focusing two projects: the
increase of the thermostabilty of exonuclease III from Escherichia
coli and the change of the specificity of ribonuclease T1
from Aspergillus oryzae. The topics include the development
of specific assays for each enzyme mostly using fluorescence
correlation spectroscopy, the generation of diversity with
mutation and recombination methods, the selection or screening
of interesting variants and their further characterization.
