Research Interests

My main interest lies in theoretical phonology and morphology and their interactions.
One important part of my research is concerns non-concatenative morphology, especially: non-concatenative allomorphy, length-manipulating morphology, reduplication, and template effects and their account in a Prosodic Morphology approach. My main focus lies here on the predictions and possibilities arising from (partial) integration of prosodic elements like the mora in a theory assuming containment.
Another strand of my research is tone, esp. in Northern American languages, and its interaction with other features such as sonority, length and consonantal features.

In the domain of morphology, I am especially interested in hierarchy-effects in verbal agreement systems, esp. in Kiranti and Broader Algic and their adequate theoretical implementation. Related questions are how to account for apparent blocking effects in agreement systems and the diachronic development of agreement systems.
