This course will highlight general classic and advanced isotope separation techniques and their features. Diffusion, centrifugation, mass spectrometry, laser isotope separation and cryogenic distillation will be highlighted, compared and discussed in detail. Moreover, the application of nanoporous materials for separation of isotopes by sorption methods, e.g. in swing methods using fixed beds and the underlying mechanisms (diffusion, selective sorption) will be presented.
