Alliances for Change! With a wide range of contributions from the university community itself and the Leipzig Science Network, we would like to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with you at Campus Augustusplatz.
How do we shape visibility, leadership and alliances in science?
Women in Science - Alliances for Change is the motto of this year's action day at Leipzig University, which will take place on Campus Augustusplatz as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Prof. Dr. Eva Inés Obergfell, Rector of Leipzig University is the patron of the action day. The evening event is organised in cooperation with the Leipzig Science Network.
Sustainable change in science comes about through networks, cooperation and reliable allies. Equity and a responsible scientific culture affect everyone and need everyone. The action day is therefore aimed at students, researchers and staff from science and administration.
The focus of the day will be on strengthening networks and bringing people together. Existing contacts, initiatives and structures should be used to develop sustainable alliances in order to increase visibility for female scientists and enable joint action - especially in times when equity is facing increasing challenges.
The programme is divided in two parts:
12-4pm, Seminar Building and Foyer of the Augusteum, (open for all university members): Masterclasses, Workshops, Cooperations, Exhibition
4-6pm, Paulinum, (open for members of all scientific institutions in Leipzig): Interactive Panel Discussion with representatives of the Leipzig Science Network and Prof.in Dr.in Eva Inés Obergfell, Musical accompaniment by the Lumina Leipzig women's choir
Followed by networking and closing reception with finger food buffet
