Event series: Well positioned for your (first) application for a professorship

The academic CV is a central element of your application for a professorship. It shows who you are as a researcher, what you specialise in and what development potential you have.

The academic CV is much more than a list of stations - it is a central element of your application for a professorship. It shows who you are as an academic, what you specialise in and what development potential you have.

In this keynote speech, you will learn how to structure your CV clearly, emphasise relevant content and avoid typical pitfalls. The focus will include

  • Do's & Don'ts: What is convincing, what seems unclear or incomplete?
  • Structure & organisation: Which sections belong in the CV - and how do I organise them sensibly?
  • Visibility & profile: How can I make my own academic identity visible on my CV?

Other topics such as publication lists, third-party funding overviews or the integration of teaching and transfer achievements round off the workshop. Practical tips and space for individual questions will help you to further develop your own portfolio in a targeted manner.

The event is part of the six-month series "Well-positioned for the (first) application for a professorship" and is aimed at postdocs, junior research group leaders and junior professors at Leipzig University.
