From 17 May 2021, members of the Leipzig University community will once again be able to use the study desks at Leipzig University Library. Seats must be booked in advance.

This will be possible from Friday morning (14 May 2021) via the usual booking system. Users will be asked to show their booking confirmation upon entering the library.

They will also be required to wear an FFP2 or surgical face mask at all times when using study desks. In accordance with the new coronavirus rules applicable in Saxony and in anticipation of the University’s amended Hygiene and Infectious Disease Concept, the testing requirement announced previously will no longer apply.

All library users can still borrow and return items. No registration is necessary for this. Patrons are required to use the check-in service and take a basket.

Items can still be borrowed from the non-circulating collection and automatic renewal is still possible, as long as the item has not been recalled and is not an interlibrary loan. Fees will be charged again from 17 May.

The current revised opening hours still apply.
