Abstract
Jonas Schollmeyer works as an academic assistant (Akademischer Assistent) at the Chair of Latin Studies. His research interests lie in the rhetoric, philosophy and literary theory of antiquity. His dissertation with the title „Gorgias’ Lobrede auf Helena. Literaturgeschichtliche Untersuchungen und Kommentar“ (Berlin/Boston 2020) is the first comprehensive modern commentary on one of the most important texts of the so-called sophists. As his habilitation thesis, he plans a comprehensive investigation of the literary sphragis. A further research project is a history of hiatus and hiatus avoidance in ancient prose. Prior to his assistance at the Chair of Latin Studies, he was a research assistant (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) at the Chair of Greek Studies for a long time. His teaching covers all common university courses and deals with a wide range of topics in Greek and Latin philology.
