Her doctoral study explores how the Chinese Communist Party dealt with its violent past following the death of Mao Zedong. She primarily focuses on the problems of perpetrators and how these officially designated perpetrators remember their past in today's China. Her most recent research investigates the nexus of sexual violence, the related laws, and society in the People’s Republic of China. As the research member of the LEI_F_13 project funded by the Ministry of Education and Research(BMBF), she focuses on judicial populism, Maoism, and the politics of truth in modern China.
