Abstract

I hold a postdoctoral position in the Institute for Geography at the University of Leipzig and I am working on my habilitation thesis on Spain and Germany. My current research focus on three interlinked topics:

(i) Displacement and housing

(ii) Neoliberal governance of nature

(iii) Production of space and struggles on urban public spaces

(iv) Finanzialisierung des Wohnraumes

In the last years I have focused on the struggles on public spaces and urban politics drawing on critical social thinkers such as Lefebvre and Harvey by means of qualitative methods.

I supervise bachelor or master thesis based on my research interests and my teaching covers urban geography and research skills in Bachelor and Master.

Over the last years, I do the student advisory, coordinate student's international mobility, and I am member of the Master's commission at the Institute of Geography.

My research has focused on the relationship between the production of urban public spaces, urban politics and entrepreneurial urbanism, and its effects on people's spatial practices by means of qualitative methods. This work was mainly guided by critical social research, as Lefebvre and Harvey.

Recently I have focus on dispossession related to urban commons, housing and nature resources, especially in Spain. In this line I explore the right to nature and to the island, working on the ideas marxist authors as of Harvey, Apostolopoulou and Clark.
