Abstract

Having studied English, Philosophy and Comparative Literature at Leipzig University and University College Cork (Ireland), I joined the English Department at Leipzig University in 2009. My PhD on the various ways of upgrading and authorising vernacular poetry in fifteenth-century English texts and manuscripts was completed in 2015.

As a lecturer in British cultural studies, my teaching predominantly consists of introductory courses on cultural theory and cultural history. However, I also regularly teach seminars on medieval and early modern topics as well as on different aspects of material culture, both past and present, and on the history of reading as a cultural practice.
