Abstract

Juliane Pfeiffer is research assistant with focus on journalism competence at the Center Journalism and Democracy at Leipzig University (JoDem).

Born in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, she grew up in the border triangle of the states of Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and Saxony. After an interlude in Leipzig, she moved to Berlin, where she studied journalism and communication science, modern history and modern German literature at Freie Universität. Prior to her studies, she gained experience in local journalism at Elbe-Elster-Rundschau and Leipziger Volkszeitung and subsequently worked on various print and online publications (conception, editorial, layout, web), e. g. at Dubnow Institute and Fraunhofer HHI. She is involved in scientific and artistic initiatives and projects on historical, political and socio-ecological topics and participates actively in the organizing team of the German Network for Critical Communication Science (KriKoWi).
