Raphael Weber is a doctorate and research fellow at the Institute for Geography of the University Leipzig. His expertise is the field of environmental justice, urban and regional development. He teaches in undergraduate courses in quantitative and qualitative concepts and methods of geography and spatial development.

Raphael Weber has worked in prior employments in the field of spatial development and planning as official in charge at the county of Northern Saxony and as research assistant at several research projects at the Leibniz University of Hannover and the Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde in Leipzig. He holds a Master's degree in Territorial development of the University Hannover and a Bachelor in European studies with focus on human geography of the University of Technology in Chemnitz. During his academic education he studied Environmental policy at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu and Urban and Regional planning at the Stockholm University, Sweden.
