Abstract

I currently work as a Ph.D. candidate in the IGRA program at the Institute of linguistics at Leipzig University.

Before that, I worked as a research assistant at the National Institute of Informatics, Japan. I have studied the neo-Davidsonian semantic framework for Minimalist Grammars (MGs, Stabler 1997, and Stabler and Keenan 2003), focusing on some problems with variable-free semantics.

Professional career

  • since 10/2020
Doctoral student in the Research Training Group Interaction of grammatical building blocks, Leipzig University
  • 04/2014 - 09/2020
Doctoral student, Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI, 総合研究大学院大学)

Education

  • 04/2012 - 03/2014
Master, University of Electro-communications (電気通信大学)Thesis: Theoretical explorations of learning biases for language acquisition
  • 04/2008 - 03/2012
    Bachelor, University of Electro-communications (電気通信大学)

I am a linguist. I study the grammar of natural languages, especially focusing on syntax and semantics from a computational perspective. My research aims to integrate two research traditions, namely, generative grammar and categorial grammar.

My current research topics and approaches are:

  • Minimalist Grammar formalism
  • Neo-Davidsonian event semantics
  • Japanese morpho-phonology (rendaku)

Also, I am interested in mathematically rigorous grammar formalism.
