There are a number of ways to take a closer look at our university before you begin your studies. The annual open day in January is an opportunity for prospective students to take part in selected courses at our faculties and institutes. In May, we invite school pupils, prospective students, parents and teachers to come and find out about the wide range of courses on offer at Leipzig University.
Open day – 9 January 2020
Taster programme for prospective students – experience everyday life at university
Use this day to attend selected lectures and seminars of the current semester. This lets you experience your desired degree programme up close; chat with students and lecturers and find out whether the field of study really meets your expectations.
At the institutes, in the refectory, and on guided tours of libraries and laboratories, we give you the chance to learn more about what everyday life is like at Leipzig. Stop by the university radio station and the Faculty of Medicine’s training centre to get a feel for the practical orientation of studying at our university.
We do not issue a certificate of attendance, because pupils of Saxon grammar schools in years 11 and 12 are not usually required to attend school on this day anyway.
Questions about studying
How do I apply? Where will I live? How can I fund my studies? Can I go abroad as part of my degree? A variety of stands inside the Neues Augusteum at the Augustusplatz campus provide you with comprehensive information to answer any questions you may have.
Where and when are the classes?
The classes and lectures take place across the city at our university’s various campuses. Specific information about locations and times can be found in the programme booklet, which will be available from the end of November.
We recommend using our checklist to help your prepare.
University Information Day – 25 April 2020
