In recent weeks, several academics from the institutes of the Faculty of Philology have reported that they have received enquiries from colleagues from Ukraine who have fled or are at risk.

In order to help these persons in an uncomplicated and short-term manner (e.g. until other funds can be obtained, cf. the last internal funding newsletter of Leipzig University), the Faculty of Philology has decided to set up an unbureaucratic support programme.

Refugee academics can arrange a paid guest stay in Leipzig with their colleagues from the institutes of the Faculty of Philology. This stay is secured through a guest agreement, enables a connection to the host institute and the realisation of an individually agreed academic project. The guest agreement should be concluded for 2 months and can be extended for a third month. The Faculty of Philology currently provides funding for approximately 10 person-months.
