The appointment of professors has a decisive influence on the quality of research, teaching and enhancing the profile of Leipzig University. For this reason, we pay special attention to the appointment process. We are committed to finding the best professors through just and fair appointment processes. Our quality-based appointment management policy ensures that appointment processes at Leipzig are conducted properly, transparently and quickly.
The Department of Professorial Appointments coordinates and supports all appointment processes at Leipzig University. As the interface between the Rectorate, faculties and central administration, we will accompany you throughout the entire appointment process and are on hand to answer any questions you may have. On behalf of the Rector, we are responsible for formally and legally examining the procedure and its documentation as well as the appointment proposal. We also prepare the official offer of appointment.
