The Extended Senate is composed of members with voting rights and members who act in an advisory capacity. It is responsible for electing and voting out the Rector and for passing resolutions on our university’s Basic Regulations.

Composition and members

Our university’s Extended Senate is composed of

  • the 21 Senate members with voting rights,
  • 35 university lecturers,
  • 14 academic members of staff,
  • 14 students and
  • seven members of administrative and technical staff.

Our university’s Rector, Vice-Rectors, Head of Administration and Finance, Deans and the Commissioner for Equal Opportunities are non-voting members of the Extended Senate who act in an advisory capacity. The Rector prepares and chairs the meetings.
