JOI.CON - Joint Programme Management – Conferences and Training

After JOIMAN was officially concluded in 2010, the follow-up project JOI.CON: Joint Degree Management – Conferences and Training has now been selected for funding as part of the the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union.

Starting in October 2011, the project will focus on practical training for coordinators of Joint Programmes with international partners. For this purpose, two international conferences will be hosted in 2012. Not only will they update current and future coordinators on the theoretical knowledge concerning Joint Programmes, but also train them by means of an embedded simulation. During that simulation, small work groups will be professionally instructed to come up with their own fictive Joint Programme within a few months' time. In this way, coordinators will have the possibility of both considering all necessary steps involved in the process of setting up Joint Programmes and working with international partners to reach that goal.

JOI.CON was initiated after the enthusiastic reception of the JOIMAN results and is therefore based on them. Thus, the new project reunites many of the experienced partners: Leipzig University (Germany) as the coordinator will be supported by the University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Bergen (Norway), Lund University (Sweden), Masaryk University (Czech Republic) and the University of Graz (Austria). Further associated partners, such as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Utrecht Network, are also offering vital input.
