Abstract

Prof. Dr. Thomas Bruckner is Professor of Energy Management and Sustainability and Director of the Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management (IIRM) of the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences at Leipzig University.

His research interests include (1) techno-economic optimization of municipal, national, and global energy systems, (2) analysis of liberalized energy markets under climate protection constraints, and (3) the optimal integration of innovative climate protection technologies into future energy supply systems.

Mr. Bruckner has published more than 200 scientific publications; the related h-index according to Google Scholar is 34. The number of invited lectures exceeds 200. 

Professor Bruckner has repeatedly been involved in the preparation of reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Most recently as coordinating lead author for the chapter on "Energy Systems" in the IPCC's 5th Assessment Report.
