Research
Widely speaking, it is meteorology of the middle atmosphere, with some focus on the mesosphere
- lower thermosphere (MLT) region. Particularly of interest to me are (dynamical) coupling processes between lower and middle atmosphere, long-term
variability of the atmosphere, and interactions between waves at different time scales.
- Experimental investigation of the upper mesosphere/lower thermosphere dynamics by means of ground-based
radio wind and temperature measurements
- Estimation of mesosphere/lower thermosphere mean circulation, wave parameters and wave-wave- and wave-mean flow interaction
- Use of GNSS for neutral atmosphere and ionosphere research
- Numerical
simulation of the middle atmosphere
