Come to this workshop to review paragraph structure and topic sentences, learn strategies to help you make good word order choices and improve flow, and practice these skills at both the sentence and text levels.

This workshop is designed to help you improve your academic writing in English. You will gain tools you can use to write texts that flow smoothly and sound idiomatic. To do this, we will focus on effective paragraphing, word order, and using transitions—as well as a few tricks. Focused tasks will allow participants to concentrate on these elements at the sentence level, and you will also have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned to your own academic texts. You’ll learn more about word order and know where to put the most important information in your sentence. And by the end of this workshop, you will have learned a number of useful strategies that will help you to successfully complete academic writing tasks.
