Are you using DeepL, ChatGPT, and other AI tools but want to learn how to make the output sound more idiomatic? At this workshop, you will learn how common structures of English and German (and your first language) differ and what strategies you can use to do move between the two.
At this workshop, we’ll look at what distinguishes your results section from your discussion section and specific language (e.g., expressions of limitations and levels of generalization) to help structure and improve your writing in this section.
Writing projects can be quite a daunting challenge—in terms of content, language, and organization. In this hands-on workshop, we will go over the details of the English exam together and focus more closely on the reading, writing, and oral components of the exam. You’ll have the opportunity to do a mock oral exam and get set up to write a practice written exam at home.
Come to this workshop to review paragraph structure and topic sentences, learn strategies to help you make good word order choices and improve flow, and practice these skills at both the sentence and text levels.

Students will focus on elements of academic English related to register and style, gain an understanding of other special features of academic English, and practice these skills at both the sentence and text levels.
You will see how you can use punctuation to effectively guide your reader; learn the rules for when to set a comma, semicolon, and other punctuation marks; and practice proofreading with a focus on punctuation and consistent style.
