One of the fundamental principle of the Brain Dynamics Graduate School is that every doctoral candidate has to be supervised by the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC). Each TAC is composed of the main supervisor and two additional advisors. For an advisor one should select professors, PDs or postdocs from the University of Leipzig, or any other external scientific institution. The TAC meets with the doctoral candidate at least once a year to discuss progress of the doctoral project, potential problems and future plans.

Doctoral candidates Ole Bialas and Alessandro Braga have been having TAC meetings for the past several years. We talked to them about finding the suitable advisors, the content of the meetings and the benefits of having a TAC.
