Abstract

My research interest lies in the evolutionary processes of domestication in general, but particularly regarding canids.

As part of my PhD, I am studying the role of introgression in wolves. Indeed, hybridization between dogs and wolves can occur in the wild potentially causing changes in wolves’ cognition and behavior such as problem-solving tasks, sociality and neophobia. In the wild, these changes can be critical for survival. In a concern of wildlife management in an era of endangered species, it is crucial to better understand the underlying mechanisms of changes due to domestication to improve conservation and management efforts.
