Are you unsure about what to study? Would you like to consider your study options in a small group with other prospective students? Then you’re welcome to take part in one of our workshops, either on choosing the right degree programme or on how people perceive the teaching profession!
They are aimed at prospective students from German school year 11 and above.
Study orientation workshop
Please note that the workshop is aimed at German students and will be held in German. If you are an international student, you are welcome to contact the International Centre for advice about studying in Leipzig.
In the orientation workshop you will deal with your own approach to choosing a degree programme. You will get to know different methods to determine your own abilities and (professional) goals. You will also receive tips on how to keep track when you are flooded with information.
The orientation workshop focuses on:
- Assessing your current position: “Where do I stand?”
- Developing prospects: “What are my options?”
- Information management: “Where and how do I find what’s right for me?”
Please note that the workshop is aimed at prospective students who are still completely unsure about what to study. If you already have a good idea of your own interests and abilities, are considering a particular degree subject for which you need more detailed information, or are having difficulty committing to a specific degree programme, we recommend that you make an individual consultation appointment with us. We will be happy to support you in your decision-making process even after the workshop – simply book an individual consultation with us.

In this workshop, you will deal with the question of whether a teaching degree and working as a teacher are right for you. You will consider the typical tasks of teachers and identify what the profession requires in terms of your personality. Exercises and group activities will help you to reflect on your own pedagogical aptitude.
