What happens in the chat?

An adviser from the International Centre will chat live with you via headset and webcam. If you wish, you can also communicate with our adviser via text chat.

You will be given an individual consultation, with only you and our adviser taking part. Each chat is scheduled to last 15 minutes. You can of course end the chat earlier if you wish.

When can I take part in an online chat?

Our online chat service is available on Mondays from 4pm–5pm (CET). When you register, we will inform you of your exact time.

How do I register?

1. Simply send us an email and let us know what you would like to talk about and when.

2. We will email you with an exact time for your chat appointment. You will also receive login data for the online session as well as other information.

What do I need to take part?

A computer or laptop with a stable internet connection. You will also need

  • a headset or microphone + speakers
  • a webcam.

If you would rather chat without a webcam, this is of course also possible.

Do I need to install any software?

No, you do not need any additional software; the online chat takes place on a standard browser.

Privacy information

We will store your email address in order to send you your login information for the online session. Our online service uses the software Adobe Connect, which is provided by the German National Research and Education Network (DFN). For more information please refer to the DFN’s privacy policy.

By registering you consent to the storage of your data for the purpose described above. You can withdraw your consent at any time. To do this, please send us an email.
